APGA Senatorial Candidate Odiuko Gives Financial Assistance To Baby Amputated After Assault By Father

The All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, senatorial Candidate for Owerri zone in the 2023 general election, Barrister Chima Anthony KSJi (Odiuko) says his aspiration to represent the people of Owerri zone in the Senate come 2023 is borne out of the desire to aggressively sponsor people-oriented Bills and motions.

Barrister Anthony stated this when he visited Federal Medical Center Owerri to give financial assistance to the two months old baby Miracle Amataobi who lost his arm due to the injury inflicted on him by his father.

The gesture by the Owerri zone Senatorial Candidate followed an appeal for financial assistance for the treatment of the child by groups and individuals.

Miracle Amataobi’s arm was amputated after an injury caused by his father became impossible to manage.

The baby’s father Mr Confidence Amataobi who is reportedly at large was said to have hit the baby with a rubber hanger for disturbing his sleep with his cry.

Condemning the action of the so-called father, the APGA senatorial Candidate for Owerri zone, Barrister Chima Anthony Odiuko wondered why a father could abuse in such a manner his own child whom he owes protection and care.

Barrister Anthony who suspected that the evil might have been perpetrated out of frustration or drugs influence, blamed government at all levels for such an ugly event which according to him was the failure of the authorities to address joblessness in the country.

He explained that it was the responsibility of government to take proper care of the citizens like it has been in Some other countries.

The Owerri zone APGA senatorial Candidate then asked the government to take it as a responsibility to cater for the welfare of the child since they could not address causative factors responsible for such abuse.

He called for the arrest and prosecution of the culprit to serve as a deterrent to others.

Speaking on the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Bill VAPP which has passed third reading in the Imo state House of Assembly, Barrister Chima Anthony Odiuko called on the executive and legislative arms of government in the state to urgently domisticate it to protect the rights of children and women.

Barrister Chima Anthony (Odiuko) who gave financial assistance to the mother of the baby, Favour Chikwe also promised her of assistance to set up a business so she could take good care of the baby.

He also pledged his commitment towards getting justice for the abused child.
