Breaking News: APGA Candidate ‘Odiuko’passes litmus test in Owerri senatorial zone

As senatorial Candidates of political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of 2023 general election in Nigeria, a cross-section of people have given reasons they want to vote for Barrister Chima Anthony Odiuko as the next senator of Owerri zone.
This is according to an opinion survey carried out by our correspondent Sampson Ohanetu who toured seven local governments out of the nine LGA’s in Owerri zone.
The people in separate interviews with our correspondent, extolled the virtues of Barrister Chima Anthony which showed he is the right person to represent Owerri zone in the Senate come 2023.
In Owerri Municipal, the encomium was high on Barrister Chima Anthony KSJi Odiuko where people described him as a man of his word.
One of the residents, Pastor Christian Ekene said though Chief Odiuko is not in government, he has used his personal wealth to affect lives positively.
“He has also used his influence in the society to secure employment for many graduates, in Imo state, given scholarships to students, empowered men, Youths and women. Odiuko is known for one special thng- he does not promise what he can not fulfill but can give more than what he promises. In fact, he is a man of his word,’ Pastor Ekene testified.
A visit by our correspondent to Ezinihitte Mbaise was a corroboration of the results gotten from Owerri Municipal.
The residents who confided in our correspondent said their people had already made up their minds to vote for Peter Obi of Labour party for president and Barrister Chima Anthony Odiuko of APGA for senate Owerri zone.
“Odiuko is a good man with a good heart. As an Abuja-based lawyer, most of our oppressed people in Abuja have received one form of assistance or the other from him. He does not ask if you are from his local government nor Owerri zone, all he knows is that you are from Imo state. I think we the people of Owerri zone will enjoy him as our senator,’ Bernard Osuji, an indigene of a community in Owerri Municipal council said.
When our correspondent enquiried from the people of Ngor Okpala whom their choice is among the Owerri zone Senatorial Candidate for for the 2023 election, greater percentage opted for Barrister Chima Anthony Odiuko.
They insisted that the people of Owerri zone should not continue to recycle old politicians to represent them in the Senate.
One of those interviewed by our correspondent, Chijindu Ekeh said ‘we need Odiuko to represent us this time. He is learned, honest, he has character and most importantly a burning desire to develop Owerri zone.”
Meanwhile Opinion survey from Owerri west LGA of Imo state revealed the desire of the people for Senator who will perform beyond expectations no matter the LGA he or she comes from.
“Though I have not had any personal encounter with Barrister Chima Anthony (Odiuko) those who know him well have continued to testify that he is an option for Owerri zone Senate come 2023.
“Based on Character and performance, Odiuko is the best answer,” Chimaobi Isioma from Owerri west said.
A visit to Owerri North, our correspondent discovered that the people are not happy even though the Local government had produced senators and other Representatives in the national Assembly.
“We have senator of Owerri North extraction but see how deplorable our roads are. There is no sentiment this time, no consideration of big name or political party this time. They have failed us. We are supporting the APGA senatorial Candidate Barrister Chima Anthony. I believe he will not disappoint us,” Obinna from Owerri North stated.
Our correspondent also visited Mbaitolu and Ikeduru the LGA of origin of the APGA senatorial Candidate for Owerri zone, Barrister Chima Anthony Odiuko.
The love for him in the two LGAS was massive.
Residents were all excited that Odiuko whom they described as a philanthropist volunteered to serve the people of Owerri as their senator.
“He is our son and brother, we know him. With Odiuko as the senator, Owerri zone is getting it right this time.
His desire to improve his society which he has done in our place with his limited resources as an individual,” Ndudiri Opara from Ikeduru testified.
The aim of the survey by Global Searchlight is to access the acceptability of candidates of political parties competing for the seat of Owerri Zone Senate.
