Imo govt: 2022 Media Excellence Award winners to receive cash soon

Winners of the “second edition of governor Hope Uzodinma’s Media Excellence award have been assured that the governor would redeem his one million naira pledge to them soon.
The special Adviser to the Governor on Imo state Orientation Agency, Dr. Fidel Onyeneke gave the assurance while reacting to the worries of the media award recipients over the delay in receiving the money from the governor as he promised them on 4th January 2023 when he presented them with the award in the government house.

Dr. Onyeneke who was the Chairman of the Governor’s Media Excellence Award committee, explained that plans were underway for the fulfilment of the pledge made to the media practitioners.
He expressed confidence that His Excellency, governor Hope Uzodinma does not go back on his promise; hinting that winners of the 2021 edition of the Governor’s award, all received their accompanying cash prizes as promised by the governor.
Dr. Onyeneke reiterated the commitment of the state governor towards making media practice an attractive venture in Imo state and advised members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm to always make objectivity their watch-word and strive for excellence while discharging their duties.
Winners of the last year’s edition of the award included Faith Chichi Igwilo of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) as the Most Outstanding State Correspondent, Reginald Mbajunwa of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) as the Best Documentary TV Journalist of the Year, Adaeze Opara-Anyanwu popularly known as (Adaigbo) as the Most Outstanding Radio Presenter (Igbo).
Other winners are Chris Anucha, Editor of The Statesman Newspaper (Best Investigative Journalist); Ngozi Ejimmadu of the IBC (Best Documentary Radio Journalist), Mary Omeni Nwode of MyRadio (Most Outstanding Radio Presenter (English) and Akunna Azuike of the IBC (Most Outstanding TV Presenter).

The rest are Cosmas Chukwuemeka of Darling FM (Best Sports Reporter) and Chigozie Emeremgini of the IBC (Most Creative Cameraman TV).
